Milovan Rajevac Appointed As The New “Ghana Black Stars Coach”

The Ghana Football Association has named Milovan Rajevach as the new Coach of the Senior National team, the Black Stars. The 67-year-old makes a return to the team after an 11- year absence following his departure in 2010.

Rajevac replaces Charles Akonnor, who was relieved of his post two weeks ago following an erratic start to the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Ghana scored three points in their initial two Group G qualifiers earlier this month and would have to win the next two games to get the campaign back on track.

His immediate assignment is next month’s double header against Zimbabwe. Ghana will take on the Warriors in Cape Coast on Saturday, October 9, before departing for the return leg in Harare three days later.

Rajevac will also lead Ghana to the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

He was the previous Ghana manager from the year 2008 until 2010, which included the World Cup in South Africa. Rajevac previously worked in Qatar, Algeria and Thailand.
