A huge congratulations is in order to Meek Mill. The Philly rapper was named BET's 2018 Man of the Year for being able to turn his tragedies into triumphs after having a crazy year in 2017. BET recognized Meek for making a complete 180 from where he was at around this time last year.
If you remember, 2017 was the year that Meek Mill was arrested and sentenced to serve two to four years in prison, he would eventually win his appeal to be released and use his platform to bring awareness to the justice system. It was also the year that he and Nicki Minaj broke up and when him and Drake’s beef escalated. Through all of that, Meek was able to move past it and make 2018 his year to shine. He released his fourth studio album Championships, where he chronicles the hardships of growing up in Philadelphia as well as making this year a winning year.
